1500OV taps have a straight flute, oversize design, for threading through and blind holes in components which will subsequently be treated/ plated. A plug chamfer and have a bright finish for producing accurate threads by preventing workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edges of the taps. Conforming to ANSI standards and suitable for hand tapping a wide range of materials including stainless steel, aluminum, cast iron and steel, 1500OV oversize taps are made from High Speed Steel, providing great performance and a long tool life.
