Floating Locating Pins
These locating pins provide precise location in one axis while allowing considerable float in the perpendicular axis. Usually used together with a Round Pin, to locate from two machined holes in a workpiece, or align two pieces of a fixture, without binding. Chamfered tip for easy part loading. Floating Locating Pins are functionally similar to Diamond Pins, except they allow greater variation in hole spacing. Made in USA.
Application Information
Locating Principles
When a round pin and Floating Locating Pin are used together, the round pin is the primary, 2-axis locator, while the floating pin is the secondary, 1-axis locator. The Floating Locating Pin slides inside a slotted bushing, in line with the round pin. This prevents binding while loading and unloading the part, yet still maintains high accuracy.
