3M tape 44 is a low halogen, edge tear resistant, electrical tape that's suitable for general purpose insulation, as well as anchoring and banding in motors and transformers. The tape is 600V rated and withstands a temperature range of 32 to 266 °F (0 to 130 °C).
3M Composite Film Electrical Tape 44 features a combination of polyester web and polyester film coated with pressure sensitive rubber thermosetting adhesive. This tape is resistant to heat, oxidation, solvents and oils. The pressure-sensitive, thermosetting rubber adhesive offers strong adherence and helps make this tape excellent for stick wound coils and transformers. It also protects start wires, leads, terminal strips, insulation paper, and end turns. This tape requires no heat, preparation or moisture before application.
