It is commonly used as a self-adhesive closure system on the longitudinal lap of jacketed pipe insulation (SSL-self seal lap) or a temporary closure system for PVC jacketing.

- 3M Venture Tape Double Coated Flame-Resistant Film Tape 3693FLE is a flame-resistant double coated film tape that is UL723 Listed (0/0 Flame/Smoke Rating). The adhesive coating both sides of the film is an aggressive, cold weather acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA). This tape is commonly used as a self-adhesive closure system on the longitudinal lap of jacketed pipe insulation (SSL-self seal lap) or a temporary closure system for PVC jacketing. This tape has a finger lift edge (FLE), meaning that on one edge the removable liner extends beyond the adhesive, making it easier to manually remove the liner.
