R56CO drills are manufactured from High Speed cobalt and are suitable for drilling harder materials including tool steel. All of the drills have a 1/2" parallel shank which means you can use even large diameters in conventional hand held power tools, and a bronze oxide finish to prevent workpiece material from sticking to the cutting surface of the tool helps to produce clean and accurate holes. The 118 degree split point is a great help with self-centering when used by hand, and reduces the force needed to drill the hole. R56CO reduced shank drills are very versatile and can be used in a number of different machine and hand-held applications.
